Jess Neumann-Kersten joined RW Jones in 2022 after almost 15 years at the University of Denver. Jess began her career at the Sturm College of Law and later helped to develop the university’s Office of Academic Innovation and Online Program Services. For the last decade Jess has focused on program development, preparing career-ready graduates through cross-disciplinary and experiential opportunities, and relationship building.
Jess is a first-generation student and earned her bachelor’s degree in media, culture and communication and minor in gender and sexuality studies from New York University. Jess earned her masters and Ph.D. at the University of Denver in communication studies, with a research focus on new media and, more specifically, how female fashion and lifestyle bloggers engage in communicative, relational, and affective labor in service of the market.
Jess lives in the Denver area with her husband and senior rescue pups. Much of her downtime is spent walking dogs at a local no-kill animal shelter, acquiring too many houseplants, and occasionally busting out random pop culture factoids.
