Jefferson Geiger joined RW Jones in August 2023 as a full-time writer after freelancing for the agency. He previously was an award-winning journalist at the Summit Daily News in Frisco, Colorado, beginning as a copy editor in 2018 before departing as the arts and entertainment editor in December 2022.
During his tenure, Jefferson provided the ski town community with details on local happenings including festivals, live music and other events. He wrote two weekly columns: Summit Suds, which featured beer news, reviews and recipes, and The Geiger Counter, which featured his editorial recommendations.
He also served as a weekend editor and covered nonprofits in addition to the towns of Frisco and Dillon. As magazine editor, he put together multiple editions of Explore Summit, Summit County Home, Summit County Trail Guide and Best of Summit.
Originally from Pennsylvania, he and his family moved to Alamosa, Colorado, when he was a teenager to embrace the mountain lifestyle. Jefferson kindled his passion for storytelling at Colorado State University in Fort Collins while earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism. He worked as a freelance video game journalist for Fanbyte and GameSpot after college, and then as a reporter and award-winning photographer for the Valley Courier in Alamosa.
He loves science fiction and fantasy and often relaxes with reading, movies, board games and video games. He can also be found skiing, baking and mixing cocktails as well as exploring new breweries, distilleries and restaurants.
Jefferson continued his journey west and now lives in Burbank, California, with his girlfriend Elise and their cat Gus.
