Senior Vice President


Myla Edmond is a collaborative innovator with nearly 20 years of experience in higher education marketing and brand elevation. She has established and expanded marketing and communications strategies for academic affairs, alumni relations, international education, and university enrollment marketing at several institutions, including private and public universities. At RW Jones, Myla helps develop and evolve the agency’s fractional Chief Marketing and Communications Officer (CMCO) offerings. In addition to building the CMCO focus area, Myla serves as a fractional CMCO and senior advisor and conducts organizational audits to make recommendations to elevate strategic marketing and communications.

Before RW Jones, Myla led University Communications and Marketing at California State University, Dominguez Hills in Carson, California. There, she advanced brand equity, developed integrated and standardized communications strategies, led cross-functional teams, and influenced change management while evolving the team’s mindset from transactional to strategic partnership. 

Myla’s commitment to the higher education marketing industry has been evidenced by her volunteer work. She was a planning committee member for the American Marketing Association Symposium for the Marketing of Higher Education for five years, including leading the committee as co-chair in 2022 and 2023. Most recently, she joined the PRSA Counselors to Higher Education Executive Committee to help better equip and support senior leaders in public relations and communications.

Myla earned her bachelor’s of business administration from Western Michigan University, majoring in marketing and psychology, and a master’s of English from the University of Indianapolis. She is also a proud alumna of Semester at Sea, a multi-country, comparative study abroad program. Although she is grateful to have been raised in the mighty Midwest, Myla resides and prefers the winters in Southern California.
