We provide our partner institutions with the research, strategy, and action they need to identify audiences, gauge public perceptions, strengthen reputations, and articulate the points of distinction that set them apart.

Our people understand the challenges and opportunities that education leaders face. We engage to help our partners lead critical conversations, tackle issues of impact, identify and amplify their brands, and make the connections that count.

About the position

Do you love writing and branding? Do you love writing within branding frameworks? Would you like to write for higher education brands on a daily basis — from websites to drip campaigns to ad copy to full-blown brand narratives?

If so, this may be the right role for you …

We’re looking for a creative and analytical Brand & Content Specialist with excellent writing and organizational skills and a passion for branding to thrive in this full-time, all-remote position on our Brand and Marketing team.

As a crucial member of a growing, high-performing operational unit, this role will write and edit content for a variety of client and agency initiatives — from website to print copy and all points in-between — while also contributing to brand strategies and platforms as part of a larger team of strategists, designers, marketers and researchers.

This role will be responsible for brainstorming ideas, creating compelling concepts, and articulating inspired messaging for myriad mediums, while learning and utilizing branding frameworks that bring our client’s unique selling points to life.

The ideal candidate will have a versatile writing style, a superlative understanding of writing for the Web (with SEO/SEM/CRM copywriting experience), and excellent time and project management skills. Moreso, the ideal candidate will understand basic branding principles and be willing to learn how to turn them into compelling narratives.

In addition, the most successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, client-centric, all-remote environment that demands initiative, and the ability to pivot from day to day and task to task.

Responsibilities

  • Write creative briefs for client approval, and translate them into copy for print, email campaigns, Web, social, paid media initiatives, and other mediums.
  • Research target audiences, demographic and generational trends, and other audience-centric data in order to write persona-driven copy that brings our strategies to life.
  • Collaborate with a team of senior leaders, designers, strategic communicators, strategists, and marketers  — from concept development to delivery of the final product.
  • Present concepts and final deliverables to internal teams — and to clients.
  • Revise copy based on internal and client feedback.
  • Learn and utilize brand strategy frameworks to write compelling copy that is on-brand and on-deadline.
  • Track your work (and progress) in Asana, our project management system.

Required skills and qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional copywriting, marketing and/or branding experience, with a portfolio of work (preferably within higher education marketing and communications, or with an adjacent agency).
  • Demonstrated experience writing for the Web (in accordance with SEO principles) and writing for myriad marketing functions.
  • Exceptional people skills.
  • Ability to work independently or with a team to meet deadlines, based on agency and client needs.
  • Superlative organizational skills, including experience using project management systems.
  • Experience working within, and building slide decks and briefs within the Google suite (including Google Slides and Google Docs)

Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in marketing, English, communications, public relations, or related discipline.
  • Proofreading/editing experience and familiarity with AP style and other standard style guides.
  • Experience working within Web content management systems and the Asana project management system.
  • Experience working within brand strategy frameworks, and developing creative platforms.
  • Experience making content decisions based on both quantitative and qualitative research.
