A survey of employers found that nearly 3 in 4 valued the “soft skills” – listening, critical thinking, attention to detail and effective communications.

Overwhelmingly, employers believed finding qualified candidates was difficult and 34 percent said colleges and universities didn’t prepare students to enter the workplace. Conversely, 77 percent of students were concerned about whether they had the skills needed for a job.
