The Department of Education recently released a study showing that approximately one third of high schoolers have taken a dual enrollment course.

Of the 34 percent of students that enrolled in college credit courses, nearly four in 10 were White or Asian students, three in 10 were Hispanic students, and roughly a quarter of dual enrollment students were Black.

Of note, students with parents who earned at least a bachelor’s degree were more likely to enroll in dual enrollment courses (42 percent) than those who didn’t hold a post-secondary credential (26 percent).
