Associate
Catalina Reyes recently joined RW Jones Agency as an Associate in September 2022. She is pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Strategic Mass Communications with a focus on Public Relations and Marketing at Loyola University New Orleans. As an intern at RW Jones Agency, Catalina gets the opportunity to combine her enthusiasm for storytelling and research by writing and pitching letters to media outlets and creating content and marketing materials for clients.
Passionate about communication and building relationships with various audiences, Catalina was selected as the spokesperson and liaison between the university and prospective students and families, supporting Loyola University New Orleans’ recruitment efforts. Due to her leadership and communication skills, Catalina was nominated as the Student Ambassador of the Month in December 2021.
Her interest in community involvement stems from her experience supporting nonprofit organizations with public relations materials and content creation to provide meaningful solutions to the challenges they face. Her background influenced her nomination and selection as the PRSSA Chairperson for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the Loyola University New Orleans chapter, where she currently serves as the chapter Vice President.
Her leadership and dedication to diversity and inclusion initiatives and sustainable impact on communities began in her home country, Nicaragua, where she was a program volunteer of Fundacion Telefonica Nicaragua. As a volunteer, she was able to give back to the community by advocating for diversity and inclusion, particularly for people with disabilities, and early childhood education.
Catalina is the babysitter of three wonderful children in her spare time, and she states that here is where her communication skills are put to the test, as she must shift her communication approach not only with the parents but also with each of the children. She spends most of her time playing the piano and enjoying her last year in New Orleans.
