A longtime journalist, Adam Smeltz joined RW Jones in 2019 after working for the largest news organizations in western Pennsylvania: the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Tribune-Review. More than 15 years in news reporting put him at the heart of many of the state's biggest stories, including in higher education. His coverage included breakthrough medical research at the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University, as well as policy, research and community issues at The Pennsylvania State University.
At RW Jones, Adam works with a range of clients to tell their stories, energize their communications and amplify the reach of their critical work. He has the pleasure of collaborating with forward-looking colleges and universities across the country on both internal strategy and public engagement, helping their research, teaching and service achieve a broad and lasting impact.
Adam received his bachelor's in journalism, and a minor in history, from Penn State. He grew up in western and central Pennsylvania, where he met his wife, Lexi. They and their miniature poodle, Pepper, 13, adopted at the Washington Area Humane Society in Eighty Four, Pennsylvania, enjoy exploring the commonwealth together in their downtime.
