About the Job
We are seeking a creative and engaged member of team, based in the Pasadena, CA, office. Major responsibilities of the account coordinator include research, writing, media pitching and client support. The account coordinator will have the opportunity to participate in various facets of our work and collaborate with colleagues in Pittsburgh, PA, and New England. Professional development and growth in the public relations field is encouraged and supported. RW Jones is committed to developing staff to serve as strategic counsel and partner for clients.
The client portfolio will be a mix of colleges and universities spread across the country. Travel is a requirement of the position. An initial two-week training period will be provided in the Pittsburgh office. An additional week of training will take place in the Pasadena office. Ongoing, the account coordinator will report to the associate vice president in the Pasadena office.
The position is full-time employment with individual health, dental and vision benefit options. Contributions to the company’s 401k retirement plan can begin with a lucrative company match after a year of employment. Employees may be eligible for bonuses based on individual and agency performance. Two weeks of paid vacation are provided along with major holidays, including a week between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
About the Requirements and Preferences
- One to two years of professional experience in public relations
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Agency experience preferred
- Media relations experience preferred
- Higher education experience preferred
- English fluency (written and spoken) required, Mandarin and/or Spanish fluency (written and spoken) preferred
