BIO

Kimberly Holmes-Iverson serves as senior counsel to the RW Jones Agency. She’s an award-winning storyteller who has extensive experience both in the classroom and in administrative roles on campus. She enjoys crafting empowering narratives for faculty, staff and students and providing media training to senior leaders and communications teams nationwide. 

Before joining RW Jones in 2022, she led the media relations office for Howard University. Through her strategic approach, she has secured notable media coverage in outlets like Politico, NPR, The Washington Post, NBC News, Inside Higher Ed, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and The Associated Press. 

Her passion for higher education shines through in conversations with presidents on the RW Jones Agency’s podcast: What’s Your Why? The interviews allow Kimberly to help bridge the gap between higher education leaders and the public one insightful conversation at a time. 

Kimberly also brings extensive experience as a television journalist to her clients, stemming from her roles as an anchor/reporter in newsrooms throughout the country. Her 15-plus years of journalistic work have been recognized by the Emmy Awards, The Associated Press, the Religion News Association and the National Association of Black Journalists.

She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and has served on the Alumni Council of the Sanford School for Public Policy at Duke University. Kimberly received her bachelor’s degree in Public Policy Studies from Duke University and her master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. 

Kimberly is based in North Carolina, where she teaches communications courses at North Carolina State University.
